Our goal is to produce water efficiency with clean energy
In September of last year, we started the production of photovoltaic solar energy, as part of an investment worth 500 thousand euros, with the objective of producing our own electricity through renewable and clean energy.
“The photovoltaic solar production reflects the commitment we have to safeguarding the planet and people's quality of life”, says António Oliveira, President of OLI.
On the roof of the industrial complex, 2,800 photovoltaic panels were placed, in a total area of 5,500 m2, representing a global power of one thousand kWp (kilowatt peak).
One year after this investment, we obtained an annual energy bill savings of 105 thousand euros, with photovoltaic energy representing 16% of the total energy consumed. It should be noted that the annual energy consumption stood at 8.5 million Kwh (kilowatt-hour), a figure that reflects the factory's intense industrial activity, which works uninterruptedly 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
